How to plan a complete garage transformation
Begin with the way you use the garage, then work toward finishes. This planning checklist helps organize your first consultation.
Measure the working space
Record wall lengths, ceiling height, door tracks, outlets and obstructions. Mark parked vehicle dimensions and opening doors. A beautiful cabinet wall should still leave you room to move.
Define the zones
Separate daily-use items from seasonal storage. Locate sports equipment near the exit, keep tool access beside the workbench, and identify anything that needs a secure cabinet.
Assess before selecting
Discuss slab moisture and damage before choosing a coating. For overhead storage, confirm mounting conditions and load ratings. Electrical, ventilation and climate-control work require a defined scope.
Coordinate installation
Ask how the floor, cabinets and storage will be sequenced. Confirm where belongings will be kept during installation and when the floor can be walked or driven on.
